The Institute of Forestry, the first and final organization on ranger service in Nepal, was built up in 1947 as Nepal Forestry Institute under the Government of Nepal, which moved to Supping Bhimphedi in 1957, then to Hetauda in 1965 and converged with TU in 1972. The principle target of the Institute of Forestry is to furnish graduate understudies with cutting edge preparing in ranger service, common asset protection and administration. Extra obligations of this foundation incorporate ranger service research and the improvement of innovation reasonable to Nepal. At present, the IoF has 3 ventures: Scifor venture upheld by Danida, NUFU bolstered by NORAD and Moringa research supported by multi partner venture.
The general goals of the activities are to improve the limit of instructing and research at the IoF, to build up the establishment offices, to prepare workforce/staff, and to create system and linkages with European and Asian colleges to guarantee nature of educating and research.
The foundation has 2 grounds, one in Pokhara and the other in Hetauda. The grounds of the Institute of Forestry have offices of labs, woodloots, arboreta, backwoods research focuses, and PC focuses.
The library at Pokhara Campus has a TREECD Database framework. A Museum-Cum-Library and Documentation Complex are at Hetauda Campus.
